Cookies Policy

Effective date: September 14, 2026

This page explains how CSDT (csdt.org), operated by the Center for Generative Justice, uses cookies and similar browser storage.

CSDT does not show a cookie-preference banner, because we do not share any information with anyone, nor do we gather information for marketing purposes. We only have essential cookies: login, our internal statistics, and security.

What we use them for

We use cookies and similar storage to:

  • Keep you logged in and protect forms
  • Measure aggregate traffic (which educational pages are used)
  • Reduce bot signups
  • Remember editor settings and local project backups in our coding tools

We do not sell cookie data or use it to build advertising profiles of students.

Essential cookies

Our cookies fall into three essential uses: login, internal statistics, and security.

Login and forms

These help the site work (login and forms). Blocking them may break signing in or submitting forms.

Examples include a session cookie so you stay logged in, a security cookie that protects forms, and optional “Remember Me” if you choose it on login.

Analytics (internal statistics)

We use Google Analytics for aggregate usage statistics—so we can see which materials are used and improve the site. Analytics is not used to sell student lists or run third-party ads on CSDT.

Google’s own privacy practices apply to Google Analytics.

Signup security

Signup may use Google reCAPTCHA to reduce automated accounts. Google may set its own cookies as part of that check. This is for security, not advertising.

Donations

When you donate, you leave csdt.org for Stripe’s checkout pages. Stripe’s cookies and privacy policy apply there. CSDT does not set payment cookies or store card numbers.

Browser storage (not cookies)

Some tools also store data on your device (for example, editor settings, local backups, or login display state). Clearing site data for csdt.org may remove local drafts or settings that were not saved to your account.

Other scripts

Pages may load common libraries from content delivery networks. Those hosts may receive normal technical request data when your browser fetches a script.

How to control them

Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or clear site data for csdt.org.

If you block… Likely effect
Login and forms Login or forms may fail
Analytics (internal statistics) Site should still work; we will not see which pages are used
Signup security Signup may fail
Browser storage for tools Local backups/settings may be lost; cloud-saved projects are fine if already saved
